Den Gyldene Freden – Hand-Painted Restaurant Environment

This restaurant in the Old Town of Stockholm opened in 1722, making it one of the world’s oldest continuously operating restaurants. The building is even older, as the Old Town that was founded in the 13th century.

We were assigned to create decorative painting relevant to the age and legacy of the restaurant. This included the dining room of The Royal Swedish academy, who award the Nobel prize in literature since 1895.

With great respect for the site’s historical heritage, every detail was designed to harmonize with the classical interior.
